Year 9-10 Incursion
This incursion empowers students to build positive habits for growth and improved academic outcomes, applying habit principles to develop effective study routines, including active learning and creating distraction-free environments. It emphasises the importance of balanced nutrition for sustained energy and focus, covering key nutrients, balanced meals, healthy snacks, hydration, and the connection between food, sleep, and wellbeing. Finally, it explores the menstrual cycle and encourages students to align daily activities, including diet and exercise, with their natural monthly fluctuations in energy and productivity.
Module 1 – Healthy Habits
The habits module encourages students to cultivate small, consistent habits that contribute to their overall growth and development. By understanding the feedback loop of human behaviour and incorporating positive habits into their routines, students can achieve remarkable results over time, leading to improved academic outcomes. These habit principles will then be applied to assist students in developing study routines essential for the senior years including, active learning strategies and the importance of a distraction free study environment.
Module 2 – The Fundamentals of Nutrition
This module empowers students to understand the importance of balanced meals for sustained energy, focus, and growth. They'll learn about key nutrients—proteins, carbs, and fats—and how these support both mental and physical development. Topics include the benefits of three balanced meals, healthy snacking, hydration, ensuring input equals output, and the role of sleep in overall well-being. With this knowledge, students can make healthier choices to fuel their best selves every day.
